About Cathy

Cathy's lifelong interests in mind-body-spirit wellness lead her to attend the New York Institute of Massage in Buffalo, NY where she discovered a true passion for bodywork and massage. She graduated from school in 2003 just before her husband joined the United States Navy. Cathy was able to use and develop her skills as a massage therapist in various locations in the United States and Europe. She is now a therapist at Retreat and Renew in Guilderland, NY.

Cathy has a Master of Science in the field of Speech-Language Pathology and a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders. She worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist with children for over 12 years. While she is no longer practicing, she continues to draw from her experiences in working with others in a therapeutic environment.

Cathy's experiences lead to an interest in the use of sound as a therapeutic tool. She enjoys using crystal singing bowls, and special CDs which designed to stimulate the brain to promote wellness and performance. She has also developed skills in the areas of relaxation techniques and guided meditation to assist in relaxation.

Cathy is also a student of yoga and incorporates her knowledge of the chakra system, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises into her sessions.

Cathy describes herself as a lifelong student and is always exploring new paths to wellness. Recently, she has taken classes in energy healing science, Reiki sound healing, and angels. Cathy also collects crystals and enjoys learning about their various uses.
